We require a qualified individual to assume responsibility for the operational development, implementation and continuous improvement of a range of full-time international & domestic part-time and continuing education programs and courses focused on nursing post-graduate education. Full-time Temporary Administrative Replacement June 26, 2017- June 22, 2018


  • Demonstrate expertise related to curriculum design, development and delivery and pathways that optimize adult and professional learning, recognizing changing student needs and expectations, evolving industry needs and opportunities for technology-enabled learning
  • Provide leadership to Subject Matter Experts (SME) to ensure program/course curriculum and delivery strategies demonstrate leading practices for adult learning and continuing education, and they reflect Provincial Program standards and professional regulatory and accreditation/certification bodies where required
  • Plan and manage curriculum development projects to ensure alignment with School and College expectations and completion of required deliverables per stated timelines
  • Provide leadership to the Program Coordinator and faculty for the full-time post-graduate programs to deliver integrated programs that optimize school expectations and capabilities and demonstrate continuing improvement in quality and student and graduate success
  • Provide leadership to coordinators of part-time programs
  • Ensure validation of Student Information System (SIS) input, to ensure courses are set up properly for student registration and course management
  • Assess proposed and on-going products for operational and financial feasibility and sustainability and fit with potential reimbursement models to optimize the contribution margins for the College and ensure best use of resource
  • Recruit, orient and schedule faculty and support staff; liaise with the Chair, Nursing regarding semester plans for sharing full and part-time faculty
  • Manage a range of continuing education activities across a range of delivery sites and formats
  • Ensure completion of faculty loading requirements and Standard Workload Forms for each semester, per Collective Agreement requirements.
  • Engage staff in regular coordination meetings and planning sessions to ensure open communications and collaboration, program development and continuous quality improvement
  • Develop staff through coaching, acknowledging contributions to team, Program and College success and complete performance appraisals, per College requirements
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts to position the College and School for excellence and impact in post-graduate education for members of the nursing family
  • Maintain awareness of trends and opportunities in post-secondary education and industry needs relevant to post-graduate nursing
  • Provide leadership in the delivery of post-graduate nursing education and certification
  • Contribute to the Strategic Operations Plan for the CE Division, with annual updates for growth and development in full and part-time programs and continuing education courses
  • Participate in the School’s Leadership Committee and Program Advisory Committees (PAC) as appropriate
  • Liaise with the International Office to confirm intake numbers for each year
  • Represent the division to external stakeholders and develop effective promotional materials for the program in conjunction with Conestoga marketing initiatives
  • Design and update admission requirements for student success, per College requirements
  • Contribute to annual marketing plan and recruitment activities, with Conestoga’s marketing department to ensure program needs are met
  • Act as a catalyst for a culture focused on student success while emphasizing early intervention for student support and maximizing resources at Conestoga
  • Manage end of semester reviews and approval of grade submissions and student progression
  • Develop the annual budget for operating expenses and make recommendations regarding equipment and renovation requests
  • Monitor implementation of the Operating Budget—with a particular view related to enrolment activity -- to ensure budget targets are met
  • Oversee semester-specific timetabling
  • Contribute to, and implement, College expectations and School’s framework for Quality Management, including the completion of Major Program Reviews, Annual Program Reflections, Annual Program Performance Monitors
  • Ensure accreditation or external certification requirements are met by all Programs or specialty courses, as required
  • Contribute to a multi-year plan that supports Conestoga’s expectations for professional currency and scholarship as appropriate
  • Liaise with CIHR/Schlegel Industrial Chair for College in Seniors Care regarding product innovation related to post-graduate preparation in nursing education


  • Master’s degree in Education or Nursing, completed or in process
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; 5 years of experience preferred
  • Nursing expertise, with clinical specialization preferred, to demonstrate post-graduate preparation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of practical applications of adult education; with preference for experience with online learning, both as an educator and designer of learning experiences
  • Teaching and/or administrative experience in a community college is preferred
  • Experience in a leadership role managing teams involved with complex projects; demonstrated project management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and management skills
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students and external partners
