We require a qualified individual to provide leadership, management, administration and operation of the Varsity Athletics portfolio at Conestoga.

• Provide oversight in the areas of Athletic Therapy, athlete recruitment, team logistics, student athlete success and communications

• Ensure effective operation the Varsity Athletics

• Generate revenue through fundraising and special programming

• Develop, establish and implement strategies, goals, objectives and procedures while adhering to the policies and procedures of Conestoga College and external governing bodies (e.g. OCAA, CCAA)

• Liaise with external organizations (i.e. sporting clubs and associations, high schools and community centres) to develop and provide access to sport and recreation opportunities for local youth

• Recruit, select, train, develop and evaluate full and part-time staff, students and coaches


• Four year degree in Recreation Leadership/Management, Sports Management or Recreation and Business or in a related discipline

• Five years related experience to include facility and sport administration management

• Experience programming and implementing Sport and Wellness activities and/or Varsity Athletics

• Demonstrated skills in budget management, business planning and reporting

• Experience working with young adults

• Practical knowledge of the operations and organizations of a college environment

• Demonstrated ability to negotiate and collaborate with partners

• Advanced computer skills include a familiarity with Recreation Management and other applicable software (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite)

• Advanced problem solving, conflict resolution and analytical skills #LI-POST
