Description:

Full-time support staff replacement position

Responsibilities:

We require a qualified individual to join the Information Management Systems (IMS) team.  The incumbent will provide highly specialized and advanced technical expertise and mentoring in the system/software product design/development through to testing and quality control processes for multi-tier architecture.  The incumbent will compute scientific methods, processes and systems to extract knowledge and/or insights from data sources within the college or external sources in various forms and convert them into meaningful reports, analytical models and predictions for business and IMS/Information Technology Services (ITS) management.

• Debug and find cause(s) of failures and flaws in a component or system(s) within our Information Management Environment

• On a regular basis, identify risks associated with data governance and provide appropriate remediation solution

• Analyze system characteristics and critical operational issues identified in the system requirements and trace the issues through the design to ensure completeness of the solution

• Define systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements

• Perform Change Management according to Architecture Review requirements by ITS/IMS

• Perform Incident Management according to Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Practices; recording, diagnosing, classifying, updating, etc.

• Record requirements for other Branches and assigned tasks in Remedy Tracking Tool daily

• Provide advice to senior management on quality assurance on Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) and other reporting requirements

• Design and develop analytics and executive dashboard by using cubes and reporting modules within college’s financial system (Cognos TM1) ensure a team review of defects in assessing product quality

• Understand and develop ETL requirement for reporting and forecasting

• Design, execute and report on commercial testing

• Create Dashboard on critical college functions through on demand and scheduled reports and make them available for analytical analysis

• Manage 3rd party report development tools

• Collaborate with the finance department on ETL extraction requirements

• Develop intricately involved in running analytical experiments in a methodical manner, and regularly evaluate alternate models via theoretical approaches

• Develop Linear and Non-linear models (neural networks, random forests, SVMs), develop clustering of data basis for analytics using machine Learning

• Development of predictive/prescriptive models

• Design algorithmic solutions, Predictive Tools, Relational Databases

• Design and maintain data dictionary, functional stake to prepare analytical modules

• Develop data modeling requirements, including data classification, cleansing and data normalization of college data

• Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility and conformity to standards

• Manage requirements tracking, modifications and improvements

• Organize and lead the requirements review sessions internally and with client

• Build and maintain positive relationships with the internal delivery team

• Develop project plans and cost/benefit evaluations

• Envelop Business Requirement Document and Use Cases on all assigned projects and tasks

• Establish Data modeling scenarios, develop prediction models for Finance, HR, ITS/IMS and various departments to assist them in decision making process

• Create and maintain Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Test Plans and results on all assigned projects for future use

• Review and recommend structure and content standards, particularly as it relates to Web/Online Accessibility (AODA) within Web Team


Qualifications:

• Three year diploma/degree Information Technology (including fluency in Microsoft Technologies, platforms and methodologies such as: SOA, HTML, CSS, XML/SOAP, C#/ASP.NET, Servlets, Portlets, IIS, Apache, SQL Server

• Course(s) related to Quality Assurance/QA, application management/development framework OR certification in SCRUM (developer/master) OR a certificate in big data/data analytics

• Eight years of relevant work experience at a senior analyst level

• Experience and knowledge in data modeling, data analytics including data normalization tools and techniques

• Excellent programming capabilities in Microsoft development environments

• Familiarity with web toolsets would be beneficial

• Demonstrated planning, organizational and project management skills

• Experience managing projects of various sizes, complexity and scope

• Excellent knowledge of portal, system integration and mobility technologies and methodologies

• Good understanding on Analytics, Data Modeling and data architecture

• Good understanding, and preferably practical experience, in Single Sign On (SSO) and Identity Management/Authentication (IDM), including AD and ADFS

• Hands-on, organized, team player including coaching and mentoring, quick learner, and conflict resolution skills

• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

• Excellent understanding of Internet technologies and associated security implications

• Excellent oral and written communications skills

• Knowledge of Component based Architecture and practical approach to Quality Assurance

• Knowledge of standardized modelling techniques, such as UML (Unified Modeling Language)
