Description:

We require a qualified, entrepreneurial individual to develop business, build relationships and provide leadership for students/clients in courses, workshops, boot camps, and custom training for contract training services in Health and Community Service subject areas. New full-time administrative position one-year contract August 21, 2017 – August 20, 2018

Responsibilities:

  • Expected to be cutting edge with respect to Health and Community Services subject area knowledge and keep Conestoga abreast of leading edge future trends to meet industry needs
  • Drive business development in Health and Community Services contract training by leading research, development, implementation, marketing (selling) and managing new (credit and non-credit) courses, boot camps, workshops and custom training in the subject areas to reflect changing technology, current trends, best practices, economic and market influences and employment opportunities according to industry needs, outside certification bodies, RFP’s and College policies and procedures
  • Build and maintain relationships with agencies, industry, government, community groups, professional associations and clients outside of the college through participating in and/or facilitating meetings and events and acting as a representative of the Workforce Development department
  • Responsible for generating revenue and delivering a profit to contribute to the bottom line of the college through Workforce Development, responding to the requests for proposals, public workshops and boot camps and custom corporate deliveries
  • Develop business across all campuses and work collaboratively within Conestoga College
  • Work with the Manager of Corporate Training to develop a sales, marketing and promotion plan, including a digital strategy, with measureable targets to ultimately return a contribution to overhead back to the college
  • Recruit, lead, manage and mentor part-time teachers for Corporate Training Health and Community Services deliveries and deal with student (participant) issues as required

Qualifications:

  • Three year diploma/degree in Healthcare, Health Informatics, Community Service OR three year Business diploma/degree with relevant Health Industry Training
  • Five years of relevant experience to include proposal writing and responding to RFP’s
  • Leading edge knowledge in current and new Health, Healthcare and Community Service trends required
  • Corporate Training and Corporate Training Sales experience is required
  • Demonstrated superior presentation, writing and sales experience required
  • Digital media and marketing expertise required
  • Training material development experience is required
  • Demonstrated budget management and revenue generation to meet expectations
  • Experience in College program administration and development an asset
  • Contacts with business and professional associations and institutes an asset
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft suite, digital media and presentation software
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow the incumbent to work effectively with a variety of personnel including part-time teachers, staff, students/clients and outside stakeholders
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, problem management and project management skills
  • Able to multi-task and work in a self-directed and team environment and adapt to change
