We require a qualified individual to model the philosophy of the Conestoga College Early Learning Programs and maintain professional relationships with children, families and Educators.  The incumbent will implement quality programs for children aged 0-12 years old.  The incumbent is responsible for upholding the CCEYA along with the guidelines in the staff handbook. Hours may be worked at various child development centres: Doon, Driftwood, Glencairn, King Edward, JF Carmichael, Laurelwood, Silverheights.


  • Plan and adapt the program/environment to meet the needs of individual children, ages 0-12 years old, as well as the group
  • Implement quality programming for children 0-12 years old
  • Ensure the basic needs of children are met; including health and safety
  • Provide ongoing supervision of all play areas and all activities/routines that occur
  • Communicate respectfully with parents, ensuring messages are passed on to parents and other staff
  • Ensure any unusual situations are shared with Supervisor
  • Attend staff meetings, contribute to team discussions and participate in professional development  


  • Must provide a copy of a clear criminal reference check, standard first aid and CPR; and up to date immunization records
  • Two year diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • Must be a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • One year of experience working in a licensed child care setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good time management and organization skills
  • Creative and flexible, able to participate in solving problems
  • Ability to apply the principles of child development and the four foundations of Ontario's pedagogy for early learning
