The School of Engineering & Information Technology requires an experienced server systems administrator to teach part-time in the Information Technology Support Services Program starting in the Spring/Summer term (May – August 2018).  The area of instruction is Operating Systems and Systems Administration, with a focus on the following topics:


  • Hardening authentication and authorization
  • Linux and Windows integration
  • Group Policy Principles and Configuration
  • Web Server Administration
  • Deployment Automation
  • Virtualization services
  • Operating System Monitoring


  • Demonstrable industrial experience with Windows and Linux Operating Systems
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT Operations / Computer Science / Software Engineering or other related field
  • Minimum three years of experience administering Windows Server (2012 R2 preferred) and Linux as a server (Red Hat 7 preferred)
  • Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level in a diverse environment is an asset
  • Must be available to teach in a 4-hour block during daytime hours (courses may run Monday to Friday, between 8am and 6pm, from May through to August).
