Vacancy Type: Temporary Replacement support staff position (Appendix D: April 2, 2018-October 5, 2018) (Full-time support staff will be given first consideration)


We require a qualified individual to coordinate School College Work Initiative (SCWI) activities, forums and events.  The incumbent will assist in college initiatives and provide administrative support to the Dual Credit SCWI office.


  • Coordinate the logistics for SCWI activities, forums and initiatives such as Special High Skills Majors (SHSM), Explore Your Future Day, TnT Days, dual credit orientation activities, summer camps, etc.
  • Collaborate with external partners to schedule activities and events
  • Working within an established budget arrange for venues, transportation, catering, materials, etc. to be available for activities and events
  • Accept and follow up on dual credit student registrations
  • Handle data input and create reports using an Access database
  • Create presentations and other materials using MS Office
  • Provide ongoing updates of student enrollment, student success/retention, course enrollment, activities and event participation numbers
  • Handle participant registration (where applicable), record keeping and follow up with internal and external partners
  • Provide support to students and dual credit/high school teachers regarding how to log in and navigate the eConestoga site
  • Liaise with Accessibility Services for students requiring supports
  • Assist in the Jill of All Trades event
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for the Ministry, presentations and workshops
  • Travel to and transport materials to sites
  • Respond to inquiries related to SCWI



  • Minimum two year diploma in Office administration, Business, Education, Marketing/Public Relations, Event Planning
  • One year or more of experience working with secondary or post-secondary students in an educational setting
  • Experience with event planning and coordinating
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Adept at multi-tasking
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong time management and follow up skills
  • Website administration is an asset
  • The Position requires incumbent to have access to reliable transportation to transport material and travel to external locations for college business
