Full-Time Temporary Replacement Position July 2018 - January 2019


We require a qualified individual to join the Integration & Innovation team, the incumbent will be responsible for development and support of the Program Review and other Academic Administration web development projects.  This includes, but is not limited to, analysis, design, coding/development, implementation, documentation and on-going support of Academic Administration web development projects to deliver business services to varied constituents, including students, applicants, prospects, alumni, employees and the public.  The incumbent will interact with IT functional teams to maintain and develop the website infrastructure and architecture, including integrations and feeds from relevant enterprise systems, and in accordance with proper quality, control and integrity standards.  Working closely with all departments in the college the incumbent will assist in the management of content and documents and as well as provide administrative support to online communities/collaboration. 

  • Manage web/portal projects
  • Work with departments and area managers to help manage content/documents and related database information, data integration with existing and future Program Review and Academic Administration web development projects
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and on budget within design standards
  • Provide support for Program Review and Academic Administration web development projects, including day-to-day guidance to College staff and IT web design student staff to address any questions or issues regarding the Program Review and Academic Administration web development projects
  • Consult with various management entities, to define the business and process requirements for web/portal development
  • Provide advice and guidance as to software and other provisions related to the Program Review and Academic Administration web development projects that are best suited to the needs of the College
  • Design the look and feel, structure standards, navigation, and data integration of Program Review and Academic Administration web development projects
  • Support related implementation and maintenance strategies
  • Prepare design, specification, process, structure and other technical documentation
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on the continued definition and development of the service oriented architecture and overall web services framework
  • Administer websites ensuring appropriate backup, user management and other procedures are established and maintained
  • Create, maintain and document web coding, structure and content standards, particularly as it relates to Web/Online Accessibility (AODA)
  • Design/create/code or acquire software to perform specialized tasks
  • Direct website feedback received by web services to appropriate area and when necessary, provide action taken to the person submitting
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to maintain current knowledge of technologies, whereby current and future needs of the College can be accommodated  


  • Three year diploma in Information Technology (including fluency in modern web development technologies, platforms and methodologies such as: SOA, HTML5 (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), XML/SOAP/JSON, C#/ASP.NET MVC, IIS, SQL Server and/or Oracle; Visual Studio, SSRS, TFS)
  • More than 5 years hands on practical and comprehensive experience leading the design, and development of dynamic interactive web services and related sites using modularized, component and service oriented constructs and frameworks. Familiar with portal technologies, WCF, WPF, SOA
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience and leadership developing web services/sites using modern development methodologies and toolsets is required
  • Comprehensive web design and development background and experience
  • Mobile development experience
  • Excellent programming capabilities in Microsoft development environments
  • Familiarity with web toolsets such as HTML5, Photoshop, Illustrator would be beneficial
  • Demonstrated planning, organizational and project management skills
  • Experience in managing projects of various sizes and scope
  • Excellent knowledge of portal, system integration and mobility technologies and methodologies
  • Good understanding, but preferably practical experience, in Single Sign On (SSO) and Identity Management/Authentication (IDM), including AD and ADFS
  • Hands-on, organized, team player, quick learner, excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Excellent understanding of Internet technologies and associated security implications
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
