Description:

Administrative Full-time New Position

Responsibilities:

  • Leads proactive off-campus international recruitment events, including but not limited to presentations and networking with guidance counsellors, school officials, parents, alumni, government and business agencies, and agents
  • Researches, identifies, and facilitates international partnerships in the Latin American market to expand partnerships, and outbound and inbound mobility opportunities
  • Prepares an annual recruitment and marketing plan (including an annual fair and event schedule as well as an agent training and support strategy) for assigned regions
  • On behalf of Conestoga College (CC), recommends, develops and maintains an effective and reputable partner and agent network that meets CC’s standards, to represent and promote CC
  • Provides training and support to agents to ensure that CC is promoted in a positive manner and in accordance with established standards. Monitors agent performance, maintains contacts, follows-up and recommend renewals or termination of agent agreements
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of the College’s mission and mandate, key value proposition(s) target students, admission requirements and current program offerings, services and programs to which students are applying
  • Continually builds on knowledge and experience in international partnerships, student recruitment and marketing in an intercultural context
  • Advises on content strategy and creation: web, and traditional: copy writing, social media, tracking. Tracks ROI on initiatives and recommends changes to strategy through analysis of analytics and competitive intelligence
  • Identifies necessary online and offline regional marketing support deliverables (print materials, presentations, online content and resources, photography, video, presentations, etc.), and their associated timelines and costs and ensures their development
  • Manages positive and effective relationships with prospective students, applicants, and parents; recruitment and admission specialists from other Canadian and international institutions; guidance counsellors, teachers, and school officials; Conestoga students and alumni; representatives of international businesses and government-related agencies, such as Canadian embassy officials, current and potential exchange partners
  • Tracks leads/relationships through CRM system and other marketing tools throughout the client relationship cycle and reports progress
  • Ensures timely, accurate, consistent, and ongoing follow-up with key audiences throughout the recruitment and admissions cycle, including responses to direct in-person or email inquiries from prospective students, applicants, and counsellors encountered by Conestoga representatives during international visits and events
  • Ensures timely follow up to student inquires to support lead development and applicant conversions
  • Hosts international guests, including but not limited to agents, delegations and school groups and supporting student services initiatives, marketing projects, and activities
  • Prepares and delivers quarterly reports outlining country specific recruitment and marketing activities and results
  • As required, manages successful implementation of admissions of international applicants, including liaising with applicants and key admissions staff to ensure that documents are received, applications are complete, and offers are generated within competitive timelines
  • Builds, manages, and maintains positive relations with other colleges’ and universities’ recruitment teams including (but not limited to) Waterloo region secondary and post-secondary international recruitment teams to brand Waterloo region as an educational destination of choice through coordinated marketing efforts
  • Researches, develops, executes, and enhances regional market on & off-campus international student recruitment and marketing projects (digital & offline)
  • Provides on campus support for international admissions, presentations, tours and events.
  • Maintains current knowledge of factors that impact student mobility: political, visa requirements, economic, social, environmental factors and shares useful insights with the recruitment team
  • Act as spokesperson for an organization and answer written and oral inquiries
  • Co-ordinate special publicity events and promotions for internal and external audiences
  • Assist in the preparation of brochures, reports, newsletters, and other material
  • Prepares and delivers educational and publicity programs and informational materials
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates communications strategies and programs designed to inform clients, employees and the general public of initiatives and policies of businesses, governments and other organizations
  • Conducts public opinion and attitude surveys to identify the interests and concerns of key groups served by their organization
  • Prepares or oversees preparation of reports, briefs, bibliographies, speeches, presentations, websites, and press releases
  • Develops and organizes workshops, meetings, ceremonies and other events for publicity, fundraising and information purposes
  • Develops and implements advertising campaigns appropriate for print or electronic media
  • Assesses characteristics of products or services to be promoted and advise on the advertising needs of an establishment

Market Analysis

  • Produces and maintains evidence-based market research reports for each geographic area under his/her supervision to share internally
  • Conducts market validation studies for new academic programs
  • Leads research projects for the IRM team: surveys, focus groups, competitive analysis, stakeholder analysis, target audience analysis, PESTLE, SWOTS and other projects
  • Proactively investigates and facilitates competitive intelligence regarding other Colleges’/Countries’ initiatives and outreach activities which support their international strategic objectives
  • Monitors trends in key industries and makes recommendations to the Associate Vice president, Academic Administration and International Education for new programs that have the potential to attract students from assigned territories
  • Conducts business in a professional manner in keeping with CC policies, including the use of CC marketing standards as provided and approved by CC

Financial Management:

  • Develops an annual budget with the necessary resources to support strategic activities in the Latin American market
  • Tracks actual expenditures against budget and submits quarterly reports on spending
  • Ensures proper control of expenditures for the initiatives for which the incumbent is responsible

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a Latin American cross cultural context, facilitating international educational partnerships and recruitment
  • Post secondary diploma or degree in a related field
  • Established network of educational and embassy contacts in Latin America
  • Proven project management skills across cultures: implementation, tracking, reporting and analysis
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Advanced market research and analysis competencies and experience
  • Demonstrated outstanding public/promotional speaking and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated marketing and entrepreneurial skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Outstanding client/customer service skills
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work at a macro level but also to produce multiple, concurrent deliverables
  • Experience with international travel and international logistics
  • Extensive international travel
  • Demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft Office applications, relationship databases, web-based systems, social media)
  • Demonstrated digital media skills: content creation, analyzing analytics reports to inform strategy
  • Ability to use good judgement, handle pressure and meet multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrated financial and accounting skills
