Academic Part-time Position


Part-time faculty are required to teach in the Applied Manufacturing Management program in the Spring/Summer semester (May to August 17, 2019) at the Guelph campus. Area of instruction is:

  1. Welding Procedures
  • Welding procedures and best practices for Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG), and Oxy Acetylene 
  • Focus on safety for oxyacetylene, hand skills in oxyacetylene brazing and cutting

Candidates must be available to teach up to 6 hours per week, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.


  • Certificate of Qualification in Welder (456A) is required 
  • Alternate post-secondary training in the welding metal fabrication fields will be considered (i.e. CWB certification)
  • Minimum five (5) years industry related experience, utilizing SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and thermal cutting skills
  • Demonstrated strong presentation, computer, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Previous post-secondary level teaching experience is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to learners and provide a positive learning environment to students working at different skill levels including international students and students requiring accommodations is an asset
  • Strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
  • Ability to work independently and in program teams
